Piotr is Celignis's Orders and Data Manager, having joined that role in 2021. He is highly ambitious and talented individual and plays a significant role in data processing, data evaluation,
and chemometrics. Piotr takes precision and accuracy very seriously and has a keen eye on big sets of data. He is also particularly active in Celignis's chromatography department, undertaking quality control of
chromatograms and results.
Here are his responses to some questions about his work at Celignis.
How did you first learn about Celignis?
After graduating from the University of Rzeszow I was looking for a business administration internship in Ireland and that’s how I found out about Celignis. I was interviewed by the company's CEO,
Daniel Hayes and I thought Celignis had an interesting business concept so I decided to do an internship there.
I was noticed as an accurate person that would fit well in the data processing department and I received a proposition to change my career path, I said yes, and I started to really enjoy working with data.
What is your favourite part about working for Celignis?
My favourite part is that I feel like I have an impact on the company and my decisions matter. Celignis is constantly evolving, getting bigger and watching it grow knowing that I am a part of it is a fulfilling experience.
The company is growing but through experience working there I see that I am also growing. I have learnt how to make decisions, deal with stress, and organize work.
Working in Celignis for me means constant development – that’s also the reason why working here keeps being interesting.
What do you find the most challenging at Celignis?
Quality control of analysis. Looking for trends and spotting relationships in data and making conclusions based on the findings. Then making a good decision based on the information.
Staying alert and making sure everything is in proper order.
What is on your wish list for the next 10 years with Celignis?
Celignis has the potential to become one of the top companies in the global bioeconomy sector thanks to the knowledge and big spirit our employees have.
If we will continue to develop, making our internal processes more efficient, then it is high probability that this will happen.
How has Celignis helped you in your career development?
Before my experience at Celignis I was working as an accountant in Poland. Thanks to Celignis I was given an opportunity to try something different. I learned a lot about data analysis and enjoy doing it more than
administrative work. I also gained practical knowledge about chemometrics which is a great tool for evaluating data. My experience at Celignis helped me to make decisions quicker, organising work and being more disciplined.
Because I changed my career path, I witnessed that with hard and disciplined work heavy things become lighter and lighter with time.
Celignis will be presenting their outputs from the first 12-months of the project
Celignis's Oscar and Fernando are today attending the 12-month review meeting of our CBE-JU research project MANUREFINERY. The event is taking place at the facility of project partner ENCO in Naples, Italy.
MANUREFINERY, entitled "Smart modular mobile biorefining of manure to zero-waste maximising resource recovery for feed and fertiliser bioingredients in rural areas" is one of the 7 ongoing CBE-JU projects that Celignis is currently involved in. Click here to read more about these projects.
