This package determines a range of plant growth-regulating compounds in seaweed materials and seaweed-derived products. The compounds analysed include auxins, cytokinins, gibberellins and stress-related signalling molecules, providing a broad assessment of the phytohormone profile of the sample.
Phytohormones are biologically active compounds that regulate plant processes such as cell division and elongation, root and shoot development, seed germination, flowering, fruit development, dormancy and responses to environmental stress. The presence and concentration of these compounds can therefore be important when assessing seaweed and seaweed extracts intended for use as biostimulants, fertiliser ingredients or crop-treatment products.
The package includes the determination of compounds such as indole-3-acetic acid, indole-2-acetic acid, indole-3-butyric acid, gibberellic acid, 6-benzylaminopurine, kinetin riboside, abscisic acid and salicylic acid. Measuring these compounds can help identify differences between seaweed species, harvesting conditions, processing methods and extraction procedures. It can also support product development, batch comparison, quality control and investigations into the potential plant-growth-promoting properties of a seaweed product.
The analysis can be undertaken on solid seaweed samples, powders and other dried materials, with results reported on a mg/g basis. It can also be performed on liquid seaweed extracts and formulated liquid products, with results reported on a mg/mL basis.

We are proud to announce the launch of Celignis InSightAI, a powerful artificial intelligence (AI) tool developed by Celignis and integrated with the Celignis Database. It functions as a highly-customised chatbot, focused on providing insights and conclusions from the data displayed on the page. Once launched, and authorised by the user, it has access to the results presented on the Database page and the user can ask it questions about those results.
A 30-second video outlining some of its functionality is provided below.
