Celignis is a pioneering SME that was spun-out from state-of-the art research undertaken by its founder and CEO Daniel Hayes.
Since its launch, Celignis has rapidly grown to be the leading provider of compositional analysis services to stakeholders
in the bioeconomy. Over that period we have taken the time to carefully recruit people that not only share the work ethic and
ambition of its founder but also bring additional areas of expertise, allowing Celignis to grow and expand in new exciting markets.
We recognise that, while the focus in the past may have been on biofuels, now businesses increasingly understand that the more profitable and sustainable approach would be to fully utilise the unique chemistry of biomass to obtain a wide variety of niche, high-value, chemicals.
Celignis has recently undergone a significant expansion in terms of our analytical and biomass processing capabilties and now have an array of advanced equipment for the detailed profiling and conversion of biomass.
As a result we are looking for a high calibre person to manage and grow a project related to the chemical evaluation and cost-competitive processing of seaweed for the production of value-added products. This will involve the development and evaluation of new biomass conversion methods and technoologies and in the supervision/validation of existing methods. A key part of the job will be to undertake detailed technoeconomic analyses to ensure that the processes are financially viable and can lead to competitive products. We envisage this incorporation of technoeconomic analyses (TEA) as being a key component in the future growth of the company, including aspects unrelated to our work on seaweed processing. For example, Celignis is increasinggly involved in the development of Bioprocess Development Services (BDS) for our clients. The person selected for this job will also be involved in intergrating TEA as part of our BDS service offerings.

Hands-on experience in lab work involving biomass and its processing is key. We are looking for someone not just to manage the project but to be hands-on in terms of
undertaking the lab work involved to achieve the project's targets.
Demonstrated experience (e.g. peer-reviewed publications) on TEA also be a major plus.

The initial contract for this position will be for 1 year. There is huge potential for the position to be extended for longer based the performance of the candidate
and the success of the integration and implementation of TEAs among Celignis's service offerings.

The position has an attractive salary of 40k Euros per annum and we have also designed a detailed training program covering an on-boarding process
