Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD)
Biological oxygen demand (BOD) is the measure of the amount of biodegradable material in a sample. It is based on oxygen depletion by microbes while consuming biodegradable material. The BOD of a feedstock decreases after anaerobic digestion. The extent of the decrease in the BOD indicates the efficiency of digestion.
