Cellobiose
Cellobiose is a disaccharide of two glucose units which are connected via a beta 1-4 linkage. Cellobiose is the repeating unit in cellulose. It is an important analyte in the liquid outputs of biomass pre-treatment processes as it can give indications regarding the extent of cellulose hydrolysis. We can quantify cellobiose in such liquids, as well as in bio-oils from pyrolysis.
